with the formalization on November 24, 2016, Sottoguda, a village in the Val Pettorina, enters the important list of ” The Most Beautiful Villages in Italy “. The village is just over a kilometer from the Pineta Pastry Hotel and can also be reached on foot by following “Pian de le risce”, a path in the woods. Sottoguda is a unique and fascinating place, where you can discover every corner that has preserved the traditions of the locals.

SERRAI DI SOTTOGUDA – TEMPORARILY CLOSED

the Serrai di Sottoguda , a gorge carved into the rock by the Pettorina stream which gives its name to the valley itself. The Serrai connect Sottoguda with Malga Ciapela, departure of the Marmolada cableway .

This canyon is about 2 km long and the panorama inside it leaves you speechless thanks to the walls on both sides up to and over a hundred meters high . Furthermore, you can find waterfalls that freeze in winter and form a real gym for ice climbers from all over the world.

The route is passable on foot , only for cyclists uphill and is suitable for all ages .

By staying at our house you can freely enter the period in which a small contribution is required for the maintenance of this Nature Reserve, using the Marmolada Card provided free of charge.

Furthermore, there is the possibility to travel the Serrai di Sottoguda with the little train that will accompany you along the way.
