The sweet temptations of the Pineta’s Sweet Half Board
There’s no such thing as sin on holiday!
Can you think of a holiday in Italy without culinary indulgence? Neither can we! This is why we created something unique for you: the Sweet Half Board. What is it? In short it is a triumph of genuine flavours and fine pastry delicacies that will make your life sweet from dawn till dusk.
It starts 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. in the breakfast room, where a rich and varied breakfast buffet will be waiting for you. Somebody called it “the best breakfast you can have in the Dolomites”. We do not know about that, but there sure is to suit all tastes, from the light and balanced choices to more hearty and tasty options:
- White- and rye bread
- Fresh fruit
- Fruit in syrup
- Choice of muesli
- Chocolade spread
- Homemade jams
- Hard-boiled eggs
- Scrambled eggs
- Choice of cold cuts
- 6 to 8 different types of local cheese
There is also a selection of pastries and cakes from our own patisserie…
- Choice of croissants: Plain, jam-, cream- or chocolate filling, wholegrain with honey filling etc.
- Apple- or berry strudel
… and of course a wide choice of hot and cold drinks:
- Coffee (espresso, Americano, macchiato)
- Hot chocolate
- Fruit juice
You will leave the breakfast table bright eyed and bushy tailed, ready to tackle the day’s activities, be it a ski day on the Marmolada, a long trek in the woods or a jaunt to the picturesque villages in the area, such as Alleghe with its renowned lake.
If you would rather have a light breakfast followed by a snack along the way, let us know: for a small fee we will prepare a lunch packet for you, quite according to your preferences.
When you come back from your adventures in the Dolomites, reward yourself with a visit to our spa centre, where you can enjoy a wholesome sauna session or a soothing massage.
This way, you will feel refreshed and ready to enjoy the second act of our Sweet Board: the afternoon cake buffet, which will be waiting for you you in the Stua Sofedera from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. After long hikes in the woods or thrilling descents on the ski slopes, you will be able to indulge in our patisserie temptations without having to worry about the fit of your trousers.
However, bear in mind that dinner is served at 7.30 p.m.!
The evening meals will be a journey into the traditional flavours of the Alpine and Mediterranean cuisine. We suggest starting with the varied salad buffet, which comprises 10 to 18 different types of seasonal vegetables and salads.
After such a healthy start, you can go proceed with a choice menu of 3 first and 4 main courses, including soups, noodles, game dishes and more. Plain and authentic, our homemade recipes are made with quality ingredients chosen personally by the Nesellos.
The servings are generous, so make sure you leave some room for the grand finale – the dessert buffet, with scrumptious pastry creations from our own patisserie!
The fine wines from our cellar provide the perfect accompaniment for any dish, and why not raise a toast to a great holiday in the Dolomites with a foamy mug of Birra Dolomiti, the local beer produced with zero-mile ingredients and pure mountain water?
