New historical-geological itinerary – Giosuè Carducci on the Dolomites

If you are looking for an easy walk immersed in Nature without forgetting the local history and culture, you can try the new “Giosuè Carducci Path“.

This itinerary starts at Caprile village and will guide you through an old path, which was also beaten by the Italian poet Giosuè Carducci on the Dolomites. He loved the Alpine environment and atmosphere, most of all those of Cadore and Agordino valleys.

During your stroll you can visit the old rural villages named Lagusèl, Pian and Tòs and you can admire and old spruce fir that is 400 years old: under its fronds, Carducci used to have a rest. Almost at the end  of the path, look at the old underground mine, where one onyx was estracted.

This itinerary is suitable for everyone since it’s only 2 hours long and there are no technical difficulties. 200px-Giosuè_Carducci2 (1)caprile picture
